Analyze and sketch a graph of the given function.Label any intercepts, relative extrema, points of inflection and asymptotes. f(x)=x^3-3x^2+4

OpenStudy (zale101):

When solving for x-intercept you set y=0 and for y-intercept you set x=0 To find the relative extrema, we first need to examine the behavior of the graph to see where it increases and where it decreases. To find that, we take the derivative of the function and we set it equal to zero to find the critical points. For inflection points, we need to examine the concavity of this function and that is by taking the second derivative and set it equal to zero to find the critical points. First, find the x intercepts.

x and y intercepts*

Once I have the critical points for the first derivative, what is the next step? i got 0 and 2 for the critical points. And I'm not sure what the x-intercept is.

OpenStudy (zale101):

You said the critical points for the derivative for 0 and 2? Ok, now test any numbers before 0, between 0 and 2, and after 2. Here's what i'm trying to imply. |dw:1417307193702:dw|
