A compound is 54.53% C, 9.15% H, and 36.32% O. what is the emperical formula? The molar mass of the compound is 132 amu. what is it's molecular formula? I have the answer to the first part does any one know how to get the second part?

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

so you know the empirical formula? Just find the emperical formulas molecular mass then divide it by 132 then multiply each atom in the emperical formula by that number to get the molecular formula

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

you should get an integer number after dividing

OpenStudy (australopithecus):

if you dont you did something wrong
