SOMEONE PLEASE HELP I'LL GIVE YOU A MEDAL AND FANNNNNNNN A recipe calls for 2 1/3 cups of honey. A second recipe calls for 3 3/4 cups of honey. Which expression should Cindi use to estimate how many cups of honey she needs in order to make sure she has enough for both recipes? A) 2 1/2 + 4 B) 2 1/2 + 3 C) 2 + 4 D) 2 + 3 1/2

OpenStudy (winsteria):

@mony01 @camerondoherty @chosenmatt @KendrickLamar2014 @haleyelizabeth2017

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

A

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

because it is better to have too much (estimate more) than too less....

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

*not enough lol sorry

OpenStudy (winsteria):

okay thank you so much!

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

yep!

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

2 1/2 + 4 = 5 cups

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

I would go with D

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Cuz it more than the first recipe and a little less than the second recipie

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

D is less than the first recipe as well as less than the second........3 1/2 is less than 3 3/4

OpenStudy (winsteria):

I'm gonna go with A...so...

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

how is 3 1/2 cups less than 2 1/3 @haleyelizabeth2017

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

2 is less than 2 1/3 and 3 1/2 is less than 3 3/4

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

yeah but u have to add

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

2 1/2 + 4 = 5 cups

OpenStudy (winsteria):

...

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

...

OpenStudy (winsteria):

;-;

OpenStudy (winsteria):

I don't exactly want to get this wrong but idk

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Im telling u, if the first recipe asks for something and the second recipie asked for another go with what is in the middle

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

2 1/2+4=6 1/2, not 5

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Not its not, an even if it was, it makes it even worse, ur putting almost double the honey that both of them asks u which is bad

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

Wait it is 6 1/2 but that makes it even more @haleyelizabeth2017

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

yes, but it is better to have too much, than not enough.....I speak from a cooking experience. I am constantly baking/cooking/canning so I understand this stuff

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

well its bad

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

not as bad as it would be if you didn't have enough

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

You can store the extra honey for something different, but you can't magically make honey appear

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

yeah, imagine putting all that honey in there

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

?

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

6 cups of honey

OpenStudy (kendricklamar2014):

@winsteria when u get the answer tell me

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

but it is a little over 6 cups to make both recipes, so 6 1/2 is best

OpenStudy (winsteria):

@KendrickLamar2014 at one point you'd given me a wrong answer on some of my questions I had asked you before so I think I should go with @haleyelizabeth2017 answer today...

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

@KendrickLamar2014 Which expression should Cindi use to estimate how many cups of honey she needs in order to make sure she has enough for \(both\) recipes?

OpenStudy (winsteria):

Instead of just talking about this question... can you BOTH help me with one more?

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

yes

OpenStudy (winsteria):

Estimate by first rounding each number to the nearest . -3 8/9 ∗ 1 1/2 A)–6 B) –3 C) 6 D) 8

OpenStudy (winsteria):

if there's question marks it's a glitch sorry ;-; try reloading it

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

I know it is either A or B......

OpenStudy (winsteria):

okay let me see if @KamiBug knows or @mony01

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

okay :)

OpenStudy (kamibug):

To the nearest what? Lol

OpenStudy (winsteria):

OH O_O

OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):

probably whole number

OpenStudy (winsteria):

that didn't go with it sorry... i'll fix it

OpenStudy (winsteria):

it's to the nearest 1/2

OpenStudy (kamibug):

It's A. :) -3 and 8/9 to the nearest half is -4. And 1 and 1/2 can just stay as it is. :P -4*1.5=-6

OpenStudy (winsteria):

Thank you so much and about the very top question do you think that's A too or?

OpenStudy (kamibug):

Yes, A. :)

OpenStudy (winsteria):

Thank you :D

OpenStudy (kamibug):

No problem :3
