Partial pressure calculation: Oxygen gas generated in the decomposition of potassium chlorate is collected over water. The volume of the gas collected at 24 C and atmosphere pressure of 762 mmHg is 128 ml. Calculate the mass of oxygen obtained. The pressure of the water vapor at 24 C is 22.4 mmHg.

I found partial pressure of O2 first and plugged into the ideal gas equation to find the moles of O2. Then I mult that value by the molar mass of O2 to get 0.164 g O2. Not sure though, can someone confirm please?

OpenStudy (abb0t):

Yes, you can do that. Remember that you have \(\sf \color{blue}{P} = \color{green}{\frac{nRT}{V}}\)
