@iGreen.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
The equation for a direct variation is:
y = kx
So which one's look like that?
OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):
The last one y=-4x?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes, and there's another one.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
But it isn't simplified.

uhm? either the first or third...
OpenStudy (anonymous):
The first is an indirect variation..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So it's the third..
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Actually, only one of these equations includes the point (-8, 2).
Let's try the first one:
y = x/-4
Plug in (-8, 2):
2 = -8/-4
Can you divide -8 / -4?
OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):
yeah, sure!...2

Yep, so that gives us 2 = 2, which is true..so what's our answer going to be?
OpenStudy (cicilybailey14):
erm the third
OpenStudy (anonymous):
No, we just tested one of the options, which option was that?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
@Cicilybailey14 look above at my calculations..what equation do you see me using?
