The Fourteenth Amendment to the Constitution has been interpreted by the Supreme Court to do what? A) restrict the application of judicial review. B) declare the Line Item Veto unconstitutional. C) expand the power of the President and the Executive Branch. D) make rights contained in the Bill of Rights applicable to the states.
What do you believe the correct answer is?
@katkipe The Due Process Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment has been interpreted by the U.S. Supreme Court in the twentieth century to incorporate protections of the Bill of Rights, so that those protections apply to the states as well as to the federal government. Thus, the Due Process Clause serves as the means whereby the Bill of Rights has become binding on state governments as well as on the federal government.
