OpenStudy (anonymous):

@DanJS i thought you were done with the other one because you left but i do want a walk through and like i told you i dont have a lot of time lmao

OpenStudy (danjs):

triciaal is typing...

OpenStudy (triciaal):

to use substitution pick a variable and find the expression that represents it. use this in the second equation. you will have an equation with one variable. solve for this one variable then use this value in the original expression to get the value of the first variable. hint for this particular problem you can factor first

OpenStudy (triciaal):

2x-6y =6 same as 2(x - 3y) = 3*2 so x - 3y = 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it was -3**

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but thanks anyway

OpenStudy (triciaal):

-3x + 3y = 9 same as -3(x +y) = 3*3 so x + y = -3

OpenStudy (triciaal):

from the first equation x = 3 + 3y using this in the second equation 3 +3y - y = -3 2y = -6 y = -3
