OpenStudy (aamirgsen):

When you want to end a sentence with a quote, does the period go after the punctuation and quotations marks or directly after the punctuation and in the quotations marks? EDIT: like this !". or like this !."

OpenStudy (geneticrockhopper247):

As Dr. Whoever is quoted as saying, "I like cake!" <------correct. As Dr. Whoever is quoted as saying, "I like cake"! <------incorrect. Does that help?

OpenStudy (geneticrockhopper247):

@Aamirgsen does that make sense?

OpenStudy (aamirgsen):

no I mean like if I'm ending a sentence with a quote, where do I put the period? like "I like cake!". or does there not need to be a period at all?

OpenStudy (geneticrockhopper247):

There does not need to be a period.

OpenStudy (geneticrockhopper247):

I hope that makes sense...

OpenStudy (aamirgsen):

@geneticrockhopper247 yes it does, thank you!!
