I can't and why?

OpenStudy (perl):

if you count the number of shaded squares, where each square has area of 1 cm^2 , that will be your area

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just count the squares :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The length of each side of each square is 1cm. The area of a square is:\[Area=(length)^2\]So the area of each square is: \[1cm^2\] Each square contributes \[1cm^2\]of area. Therefore the total area of the shaded region is the number of shaded squares.
