Help with statistics, I took a screen of it since it has a table. http://i.imgur.com/xF9lilg.png

@misty1212 halp

OpenStudy (misty1212):

i am not sure exactly what it is asking in terms of "outcome" but you can think of this just like flipping a coin 5 times

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk either

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@SolomonZelman do you know?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

no, not really. Sorry that can't help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aww

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

I am sure there are many users who know this math better than me though...

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

goog luck

OpenStudy (misty1212):

it is not really too clear is it? we can try it though

OpenStudy (misty1212):

lets say we get a white ball on the first try then the probability you get a white ball on the second try is 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i messaged my teacher that it didn't make sense, maybe she can cut me some slack

OpenStudy (misty1212):

not clear what happens on the third draw though if you get a white then black then black does that count as getting the same as the previous one?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

what is considered a "game"? when you get a different outcome, does that end the game?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dunno

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

anyway @misty1212 is right in that each outcome has chance of 1/2 since there are only 2 balls prob of scoring "-2" or "2" is both 1/2

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

For 3rd draw, its 2 successive 1/2 chances ----> 1/2*1/2 = 1/4 there is 1/4 chance of getting 3 in a row or getting 2 in row then different

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

and so on ... 1/8 chance of getting 4 in row 1/16 chance of getting 5 in row

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

heres a tree diagram to help |dw:1420426189257:dw|
