hello i need help writing an essay on Macbeth . I'm in connections academy so maybe some of you might be familiar to you it is unit 3 lesson 6 just in case. I have a prompt to choose from .. im just not very good with essays .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What grade are you in?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12th

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm ok whats the prompt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. Select a “secondary” character (Banquo, Macduff, Malcolm) and analyze the way in which he or she serves as a foil to a central character and thus help to expand your understanding by contrast. (A foil is a character who enhances another through contrast). You could also theoretically use Lady Macbeth as a secondary character to Macbeth. 2. Does power corrupt automatically? Apply this famous expression to the events and characters in Macbeth. You can focus on a single character or several. You may take the position that it always corrupts, never corrupts, or sometimes corrupts, but be sure to provide textual support. 3. Is Macbeth a tragedy of fate or of character? In determining your position on this, consider whether the witches play a central or collateral role in shifting the ambitions and actions of the play’s characters.

yea its english 12a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i wanted to do the first or second one ....

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it all one topic or do you choose one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh ok hang on let me think for a minute

OpenStudy (nincompoop):

Start writing your essay and then share to any person who is English literate to help you.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you choose one and then i have a outline that i need to fill in.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I kinda like the third one better. It would allow for more detail you know?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i dont actualy have to write a full essay i just have to fill in a outline... do you get me ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea the third one will probably have more information

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah Yeah. Ive had to do that last month. Ok well was Macbeth a tragedy of fate or character? Like was it his fate that killed him or his own stubborness...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

his own stubbornness, i mean you can argue both really since the witches cursed him .. but i think it was his stuborness

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Plus the witches... Did they have any part in his death??? Would that go under fate or Character??? And i thought so too. He brought it on himself to get cursed and all that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea the witches did have a part in his death . they made him believe that what he was doing was going to make things change for him .. but it ended up getting him killed. can you explain what character means for this question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in what sence of character do you need

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like what definion or type do you need me to explain?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well the question is fate or character i dont understand what it means by character . could you put it in differnt words

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well you asked did the witches have anything to do with macbeths death and if it would go under character or fate . i know what fate means i just dont understand what character means in the question .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well i want to say the witches made his life the way it came to be .They chanfed it themselvesnot fate. They seeked him i believe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

His stubborness

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That would be his character

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what about the witches?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you do good on the outline?..... if so when i complete mine can you look mine over before i turn it in .

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can look at yours when you are done.
