OpenStudy (phebe):

A=πr2=π·52≈78.53982

OpenStudy (phebe):

wait nvm

OpenStudy (phebe):

Answer is: 78.54

OpenStudy (phebe):

ohh wait non of ur answer choices say that so hodl on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[Area~of~a~circle= \pi(radius)^2\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dont give direct answers @Phebe

OpenStudy (phebe):

yah ik that i showed my work but it showed question mark

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5 is the Radius?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just showing you work doesnt work either, walk them through it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes 5 is the radius

OpenStudy (phebe):

do 5*3.14

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dont do this^

OpenStudy (phebe):

The area of a circle is π (Pi) times the Radius squared, which is written: A = π × r2 Or, when you know the Diameter: A = (π/4) × D2 Or, when you know the Circumference: A = C2 / 4π

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Remember radius^2(pi)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So do 3.14 which is pie multiple by 5?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No 5 squared time 3.14

OpenStudy (phebe):

Use this formula to help u get the abswer A = π × r2 just fill in for the numbers

OpenStudy (phebe):

im going to show u an example okay

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Which is 78.5?

OpenStudy (phebe):

What is the area of a circle with radius of 3 m ? Area = π × r2 = π × 32 = π × (3 × 3) = 3.14159 × 9 = 28.27 m2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok

OpenStudy (phebe):

did u understand it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@swagmaster47 I got 78.5 now what do I do next?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Go back a step. You see how each of your answers have a pi next to it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Basically it means this\[x*\pi\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x being whatever number

OpenStudy (phebe):

yah thats what i got too but pi stands for 3.14 did u use it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and since our equation is\[5^2\pi\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes and got 78.5 I did 5 squared x Pie

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What do you think we do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Divide?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Would the answer be C?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You could. The easier way would be not to multiply by pi at all so you start with \[5^2pi\] and end with \[25pi\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah so I think the answer is C.
