Which of the following is NOT a stage of mitosis? (1 point) metaphase anaphase prophase telophase cytokinesis

The four stages or phases of mitosis in order are: Prophase: Chromatin condenses into chromosomes and the centrioles and mitotic spindle form. Metaphase: Chromosomes pairs line up in the middle (or equatorial plane). Microtubules attach to the centromeres. Anaphase: Pairs (sister chromatids) split. Individual chromosomes move to opposite ends. Telophase: Chromosomes reach their destination and new nuclear membranes form around them. While not generally considered a part of mitosis, then follows cytokinesis (the cell divides) thus ending cell division. Some authors also distinguish preprophase prior to prophase, and prometaphase between prophase and metaphase
