OpenStudy (millsemily):

Find the GCF of the terms of the polynomial. 16x^3 + 28x^5y A. 112x^5y B. 4x^5y C. 4x^3 D.8x^5 Yeah, I don't get this one :) Can someone help me/explain it? Thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do I have to explain it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ik the answer because my friend gave me the answer buh i cant explain it

OpenStudy (millsemily):

If you don't want to, it's okay :)

OpenStudy (millsemily):

I can ask my teacher, no problem :)

OpenStudy (bibby):

the GCF is the GCF of the common term and the variables. List out the factors of 16 and 28

OpenStudy (millsemily):

16: 1, 2, 4, 8 and 16. 28 :1,2,4,7,14,28

OpenStudy (bibby):

correct, do you spot common factors? 1,2,4 4 being the greatest common factor. now we have to pick out the GCF of \(x^3\) and \(x^5y\)

OpenStudy (millsemily):

To be honest, I thought it was C

OpenStudy (bibby):

you thought right

OpenStudy (millsemily):

Ah okay.

OpenStudy (millsemily):

Thank you. I appreciate your help dearly.

OpenStudy (bibby):

OpenStudy (millsemily):

Okay! :)

OpenStudy (millsemily):

Haha, sorry KngTHnd3r. That's the one I needed help with lol
