WILL FAN AND MEDAL!!!!

A.
RbOH is a base because its pH is greater than 7.
B.
HCl is a base because it is the lowest number on the pH scale.
C.
HIO3 is a base because its pH is closest to 7.
D.
HBr is a base because its pH falls between 1 and 7.

So on the pH scale, 7 is neutral.
Below 7 are acids and above 7 are bases.
OpenStudy (andrewhaze):
what is rbOH
OpenStudy (anonymous):
If we look at the image, RbOH has a pH of about 8 or so
OpenStudy (andrewhaze):
never mind i found out

but thanks

nooo problem :)
OpenStudy (andrewhaze):
is it B @Pawtpie
OpenStudy (anonymous):
HCI can't be a base on the pH scale because if it is the lowest number then it is way below neutral 7 and highly acidic

oh

then D
OpenStudy (anonymous):
If HBr is between 1 and 7, then it is an acid or neutral. Bases are between above 7 and 14
OpenStudy (andrewhaze):
so it is
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Not C because if HIO is closest to 7 it is more neutral than a base
OpenStudy (andrewhaze):
oh nvm stupid me

So it should be?
OpenStudy (andrewhaze):
A
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Yes, simply because it's pH is above 7, and is a base :)
OpenStudy (andrewhaze):
thank you again
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no problem :)
