OpenStudy (anonymous):

if (-3,7) is on the graph of f(x) which point must be on the graph of the inverse function f^-1(y)

OpenStudy (ajspeller):

Switch the x and y coordinates.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I suck at these

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so (-7,3) or would it be (3,-7) @ajspeller

OpenStudy (danjs):

The inverse of the function, is the function reflected over the line y=x on the coordinate plane

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so it would be (3,-7) then right? @DanJS

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im confused :(

OpenStudy (danjs):

it is the reflection over the line y=x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its (3,-7)?

OpenStudy (danjs):

right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay that graph helped a lot thank you!

OpenStudy (danjs):

welcome

OpenStudy (danjs):

FOr an entire function... every point is reflected over

OpenStudy (anonymous):

actually... its (7,-3)

OpenStudy (danjs):

OpenStudy (danjs):

o crap, you are right, i messed that up, just switch the x and y coordinates for a single point

OpenStudy (danjs):

The inverse of a function has all the same points as the original function, except that the x's and y's have been reversed
