How antibodies can be external defence system? :O
d
Oh that's right, it's internal..lol.
@wilston123 Please don't give answers, plus that answer is obviously wrong because it IS a disease and we're looking for something that will defend us from a disease.

Fever is not a disease!!!!!
o.O Really?
@wilston123 That says 'internal defence'..we're looking for an 'external defence'.
ohhhh
It's a defence sytem, You can call it a physiological defence system which body uses to suppress pathogenic growth inside the body. But of-course it's an internal line of defence system.
sorry
An external defence system will be something which is present on external body features to prevent pathogens from entering the body right from outside.
you were correct the first time mucous, much as saliva, is something we excrete that helps lyse foreign bodies
the goo that drips out of your nose is a mucous, which helps trap microbes
so when you have a drippy nose, don't be embarrassed :) just let it be
The mucous or mucous membranes line some body cavities that are exposed to the external environment. Ex as nin said, vaginal orifice, rectum, your lips etc...
