OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you were a geologist excavating rocks dating back to Precambrian times, what would you expect to find and why? You would find many fossils because, over time, the rock layers from that period have been very static and have not deformed. You would find many fossils because the organisms of that time were very diverse. You would find very few fossils because the dominant organisms were soft-bodied and small. You would find very few fossils because the dominant organisms were large and had soft shells that decomposed over time.

OpenStudy (secret-ninja):

"Precambrian time, period of time that extends from about 4.6 billion years ago (the point at which Earth began to form) to the beginning of the Cambrian Period, 542 million years ago. The Precambrian represents more than 80 percent of the total geologic record." http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/topic/474302/Precambrian-time If the Earth wasn't even fully formed, then I doubt you'd find many fossils. I'd go with C.
