what made wwii a total war?
Welcome to OpenStudy!! Your answer is in this link :DD http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_war
Consider that the term "total war" means without constraints of what territory it was fought on, what weapons were used, what objectives were pursued (especially if laws were disregarded), what combatants (people engaged in fighting) were involved, etc. Now, couple that with some of the events that took place in that time period, or even compare that to the "wars" today. WWII was fought not only afar, but back at home, also. Civilians grabbed jobs in industries to produce war supplies for their armies overseas. Hitler pursued land and resources at the expense of many who were innocent. Consider the tactics he used to take over land (both intellectual and force-wise). Research some about the Czechoslovakia/Sudetenland "deal" he made with Neville Chamberlin ("Munich Agreement"). What laws or terms of war did Hitler go against? Hope at least some of that helped. :)
