Which of the following is the graph for the inequality of x > 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (nerdgirl):

It's the fourth graph. Here's a tip: every time you see a problem like this, check to see if there's a line under the greater or less than sign. If there isn't, the circle will be see-through. If there is, the circle will be solid. On the other hand, for the matter of x is greater or less than 2, if the equation is like it is above, the line will cover the numbers greater than 2. Does that make sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i think so i have one more im going to see if i can do it but if i cant can you help me

OpenStudy (nerdgirl):

Well I won't do it for you but I'll do my best do help you out. You won't learn if I do it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks

Which of the following is the graph for the inequality of m ≤ –2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (nerdgirl):

There's a bunch of empty boxes... is the sign less than, greater than, less than or equal to, or greater than or equal to?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i think its the 3rd one

OpenStudy (nerdgirl):

Ok so if the sign has a line under it, that means the circle is solid. Is the sign greater than or less than?

OpenStudy (nerdgirl):

Ok, so since it's less than, that means that the line will cover which side of -2?

OpenStudy (nerdgirl):

I'll tell you this - it's not 3.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh thanks that help a lot i thing i get it now

OpenStudy (anonymous):

think

OpenStudy (nerdgirl):

Just to make sure you understand completely, which graph is it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it the 2nd one

OpenStudy (nerdgirl):

Correct. :) Ok I have to go now good luck with the rest of math.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OK thanks
