OpenStudy (firejay5):

Where is the unified light souce and more perspective in this painting?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

this is art I think I can help here :) I think that when they ask for unified light source they want where the lighting is coming from right? (check your notes I'm not sure) but if that is the question the is coming from the left upper right (notice how the shadows are on the bottom left) and what do you mean by more perspective?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

@Daniellelovee http://painting.about.com/od/artglossaryp/g/defperspective.htm

OpenStudy (firejay5):

When you say the unified light souce, do you mean how there is darkness where the light should be

OpenStudy (firejay5):

Am I right?

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

No (like I said I'm not sure what your art teacher wants) but I think it is where the lighting is coming from... And I have to give myself a facepalm because how did I forget the perspective....I think it is 2point perspective since the vanishing point are at both sides (the mountains)

OpenStudy (firejay5):

It's not for the subject Art is English

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

Well then you have a very artistic english teacher because he/she is asking for perspective (even the website that you sent me said art glossary)

OpenStudy (firejay5):

oh lol yea I am writing an Art Renaissance Paper over Michelangelo Buonarroti

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

lol yeah plus I've answered some of your question from the art history section

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

btw cool subject and great selection of artist!

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I know I found so much information about him

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

haha of course! he is one of the best!

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

thank you for the medal! :)

OpenStudy (firejay5):

do you think the painting is 2-D or 3-D

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

3-D because of the shading technique he used and because he made the family in the front the main point on the drawing by making them bigger which creates a realistic and 3 dimensional effect.

OpenStudy (firejay5):

I think that's what perspective means

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

ok are you trying to confuse me on purpose -.-' ?

OpenStudy (firejay5):

no that's what it means by more perspective, it should look more 3-D, because it'll look more realistic

OpenStudy (daniellelovee):

there is difference between perspective and dimension a perspective has vanishing points and dimension has detail |dw:1421894577046:dw| that is 2-dimensional because there are no shading nor detail that make you see the drawing as realistic
