HELP????

OpenStudy (ttp):

OpenStudy (haichi):

I think it is A

OpenStudy (ttp):

@Kommander_Kitten

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay, this still deals with correlation coefficients even if it doesn't expressly say it. So think about it from that perspective.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can eliminate A, because the graph seems to have some sort of positive correlation.

OpenStudy (haichi):

Wat?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can eliminate C because the graph has a positive correlation, and that answer implies that it has a negative one.

OpenStudy (ttp):

So d?

OpenStudy (haichi):

But D says that if a students iq is higher the higher the math score thats not true

OpenStudy (haichi):

@Kommander_Kitten

OpenStudy (ttp):

so c @Kommander_Kitten

OpenStudy (haichi):

No

OpenStudy (haichi):

not C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

TTP if you look above, you'll see I eliminated C because it implied a negative correlation. This graph has a positive one.

OpenStudy (haichi):

Kommander kitten It makes no sense in what ur implying

OpenStudy (ttp):

Ok, right so b?@Kommander_Kitten

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How so Haichi? What is your reasoning for your answer?

OpenStudy (haichi):

Not necessarily true

OpenStudy (haichi):

Well when a student has an iq of 100 that student scored the highest

OpenStudy (haichi):

And if the student had an iq of 110 that student didnt get the top score

OpenStudy (haichi):

that*

OpenStudy (haichi):

has*

OpenStudy (ttp):

SO B?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're correct Haichi. That's how I eliminated A and C.

OpenStudy (haichi):

But A says that the math scores has nothing to do with the IQ

OpenStudy (ttp):

Am I correct? b right?

OpenStudy (ttp):

or d? @Kommander_Kitten

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Honestly, it could be either. Because both answers amount to the same thing. I think the safer bet is to go with B.

OpenStudy (haichi):

I dont understand a student has an iq of 100 but scores the highest?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not an exact answer to the situation. It's a general statement. Overall, if a student's IQ is higher, their math score will be higher. You can see that from the general motion of the graph towards the top right.

OpenStudy (haichi):

true

OpenStudy (anonymous):

However, if a student's math score is lower, their IQ tends to be lower too. So this is why I'm hesitant to answer B over D. But I think it's the right answer.
