OpenStudy (thatonegirl_):

What would the decomposition reaction for Ir(ClO3)7--->__________ be? It's a chlorate so it's going to give off oxygen and leave chloride compounds behind but idk how to write it and balance it. Please help! :(

OpenStudy (aaronq):

it'll give you \(O_{2~(g)}\) and the chloride salt of the metal

OpenStudy (thatonegirl_):

Which is IrCl? @aaronq

OpenStudy (jfraser):

if the charge of the Ir was +7 to start with, it will probably still be +7 as a product

OpenStudy (thatonegirl_):

ohh thank you! @JFraser
