OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do you find out the maximum number of electrons allowed in n=5 ml=1

OpenStudy (aaronq):

you have to go through each set orbitals (angular quantum number)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you do that I'm not sure

OpenStudy (aaronq):

i'll do one n=5, \(l\)=4 (f orbital), \(m_l\)=1, \(m_s=\pm \dfrac{1}{2}\) so 2 electrons in \(l\)=4 this is easiest if you know which orbital(s) dont have \(m=1\).. HINT: it's only 1, s.
