helpp me plzz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you think? do you know the meaning of covalent bond?

OpenStudy (ccswims):

A covalent bond is a chemical bond formed by the sharing of electrons between atoms

thank you i got it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

carbon, silicon etc are elements having 4 valence electrons..so in order to obtain a stable phase they have to either give away four electrons or accept 4 electrons.. so the best possible way to attain stability is by sharing 4 electrons with another carbon atom resulting in 8 electrons for both atoms and thus being stable :)
