How many moles is 180g of glucose?
1 mole
This is how I remember how much grams are in a glucose. 1 carbon = 30 grams glucose is 6 carbons, so 6*30 = 180 grams.
1 carbon = 30 grams Nonsense ... One mole of carbon atoms have a mass of 12.0 grams. Glucose does not consist of 6 carbon atoms. It also contains oxygen and hydrogen atoms.\[\color{green}{\text{C}_6\text{H}_{12}\text{O}_6}\] Find the molar mass of glucose. Then take the mass and divide by the molar mass to find the number of moles.
Calm your oxytocin..... I just said..... this is how I remember how many grams are in glucose. For every carbon, thats 30 grams. Since glucose has 6-carbons.....thats 180 grams. This also applies to 4-chained sugars and even polysaccarides.
You can spend the time counting all the oxygens and hydrogen, and you will get the same answer as mine. Thus, im explaining a shortcut.
