I WILL FAN AND MEDAL BUT I NEED THIS QUICK! Describe a procedure to separate a mixture of salt, sand, and water.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

Think about solubility. Are sand and salt both soluble in water? If not, could you use filtration to remove one from the water?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but would that still be correct? i mean, to dissolve the salt? because technically its not separated from the water @aaronq

OpenStudy (aaronq):

right, but then you can boil off the water

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then the salt will be left behind? @aaronq

OpenStudy (aaronq):

yep, salt has a really really high boiling point so it's not going anywhere

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, thank you very muchh

OpenStudy (aaronq):

no problem
