Sam is making a cylindrical container. The diameter he is using for the circular bases is 8. What is the length of the rectangular sheet of metal he is using for tube?

The length is 14?
Wait lol im looking at the wrong thing ok R=8 D=16
The top edge of the "tube" is also the length of the rectangle which is curved to make the "tube" for the cylinder. In order for it to wrap tightly around the circular bases the length must equal the circumference of the circular bases.
\[C = Π d \] plug in the numbers :)

DId you plug them in?
what is the formula?
C=Πd
got it?
