2.The distance traveled by a falling object is given by the formula d = 0.5gt2 where d = distance, g = the acceleration due to gravity, and t = time. Solve this equation for g, and use your formula to determine the acceleration due to gravity if a baseball takes 10 seconds to hit the ground after being dropped from a height of 490 meters. Show all steps in your work.
CAN ANYBODY HELP MEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!
@im_an_angel Do you get this one?
still lost as last years easter egg XD @Legends
@adajiamcneal
the equation is \(d=0.5gt^2\) right?
Yea
:)
So if you want to solve for g, you need to isolate it. First, you can divide both sides by 0.5
what do you get?
So 0.5/490?
oh I'm just talking about isolating \(g\) in the equation without using the numbers from the problem yet
\[\frac{d}{\color{red}{0.5}}=\frac{0.5gt^2}{\color{red}{0.5}} \]
Oh ok I get it thanks @kirbykirby
after that you can also divide both sides by \(t^2\) in the same way, and your g will be isolated
he gets it. . .
The last thing to do will be to plug in \(d=490\text { m}\), and \(t=10 \text{ s}\)
ok
