Help! Fan and medal! In which of the following ways are DNA and mRNA similar? A: They are both always kept in the nucleus to keep them safe from damage. B: They are both double stranded and must be unzipped during replication and transcription. C:They both contain the entire genetic sequence of the original DNA from their parent cell. D:They both copy genetic code by forming a complementary sequence of nucleotides with an existing strand of DNA.

OpenStudy (somy):

what do u think? and why so?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have no idea that's why I asked it.

OpenStudy (somy):

then what do you already know about DNA and mRNA?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Not much.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are composed of similar materials: DNA is a deoxyribonucleotide polymer while RNA is a ribonucleotide polymer. A nucleotide is composed of a nitrogenous base, a sugar, and a phosphate group. In ribonucleotides, the sugar is ribose, while in deoxynucleotides, the sugar is deoxyribose. Adenine, guanine, and cytosine are nitrogenous bases in both DNA and RNA, while thymine is found only in DNA and uracil is found only in RNA.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, so what would the answer be?

OpenStudy (somy):

If dont know much, how come you got this q? what about DNA trascription what do u know about it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so would it be b or d?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because I do virtual school and its a test that we have to take

OpenStudy (somy):

DNA https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNASRkIU5Fw&index DNA transcription & translation https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h3b9ArupXZg watch & learn you might as well figure out the answer as you watch these two and learn both

OpenStudy (somy):

I will not be giving direct answer as you will not learn anything (since you are saying you dont have much basics so i cant really explain why is what)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm just gonna guess. I don't have time for all that. thank you for helping me. I appreciate it.

OpenStudy (somy):

I'm sorry.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its okay. The effort was enough :)

OpenStudy (somy):

If you have time & If you wish to learn about this topic feel free to tag me I'll explain step by step :)
