@butterflydreamer could you help me with this problem please?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Is that x raised to the y power?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[x ^{y} = 3; x ^{t} = 16\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know that 3 squared is 9 but what does that have to do with the original question?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
may x is 3 and y is 1, thus 3^1 equals 3, but that does explain how you get 16
