Which sentence uses a verb that agrees with its compound subject? A. Aunt Meg and Aunt Harriet knits hats for gifts every year. B. A permission form and a physical is required for the tryouts. C. Those batteries and this light bulb have lasted for months. D. Now either we or the neighbor have a key to the house
I think it's either A or D
What I do when I'm trying to figure out if something is gramaticalyy correct, is replace the subject with a pronoun. So for A, the aunts can be replaced with they. Does this sound right? They knits hats for gifts every year.
try reading each sentence out load carefully. see if they sound right
oh so it's D isn't?
read D very carefully. r u sure its right?
oh yah that doesn't sound right either ugg sorry I'm not good at this type of stuff
So actually C sounds like the best answer if you look at it carefully
yes, u got it
This stuff is hard. The tricky part of D, is that there is the pronoun either in the sentence. Either is an indefinite pronoun that sounds correct wither way.
okay thank you twilightrain and neonumbelle can I tag you in a question if I have any more problems?
yes, this stuff is kind of a pain
Yeah sure. :)
