A force does +140 J of work when it acts on a moving object and its direction is in the same direction as the objects displacement. How much work does this force do when the angle between I and the objects displacement is 56 degrees?

Hi there! I am here to help. Let us take two cases. the equation to use is That energy=force*distance or E=F*d. For the first prblem, we have Fd=140 For case 2, the distance is at a given angle above the horizontal... But your question does not specify wether the angle is above the horizonatl or it is from the vertical. But I believe it is horizontal and of you realize that it is not, tell to rectify it. So, back to problem 2, we get F*dcos56=? Since we have a simultaneous equation system, we see that F and d are the same, so we can cancel them, having 1=140 and cos56=?, respectively. Using ratio and proportion, we get ?=140cos56, which is78.3J.
