Should I get a Mac or stay with Windows
Are there Mac things you know you will be doing? If so, it may be worth it. Otherwise, they are different and do not run the same software. This can make it a surprisingly large step for some people. Heck, it can even be hard to use ther mouse with all the sensor locations nd no buttons.
OK thanks
np. As you can see, it really is a bit of a personal choice and neds to be based on use.
A ton of people also use Macs for audio and video development... so that is not really that true.
Thanks! I am going to use this for school. Still a Mac?
A lot of school work these days is Windows centric. Many typing classes are structured around Word, etc. If you already know Windows, that means no extra learning curve for those classes. Other than that, there is no difference between a Mac and Win box for doing homework. Not much of an advantage for either.
Okay because the laptop I am using now is one the school gave me to use for the school year. It is Windows 8.1 Enterprise, Intel Core i5 Lenovo Touch screen 13 ' 3 inch Office Pro Plus, Windows Media Player, 4 GB of RAM 300 GB SSD. I just want to know which would be tter, because I want it to last like 10 years Word is not a big deal cause you can get it on a Mac. I don't even use Word, I use Google Drive. I like Mac but they are expensive, I can also get a Chromebook with better specs than my laptop and better than a Mac for $100 but will it last as long as a regular PC or Mac. I do not like Windows at all and I am used to Mac but don't have the money to buy one. So little stuck here. The specs of the Mac I want are 2.2GHz Dual-Core Intel Core i7, Turbo Boost up to 3.2GHz 4GB 1600MHz LPDDR3 SDRAM Apple Thunderbolt to Gigabit Ethernet Adapter Apple Thunderbolt to FireWire Adapter Apple Thunderbolt Cable (0.5 m) - White But that is over $1,000! I can get 3 Chromebooks for that and 2 Windows laptops for that price! Let me know what you think!
I would not suggest anyone get a Chromebook due to how little they actually run. Also, people have reported all sorts of odd issues like not being able to view things in another tab, so they end up leaving a web site rather than just opening a tab.
If you think about it, a Chromebooks is about one step away from being an Android based laptop... If you lose internet you lose access to all the things it can do. To me, that is an exceptional liability. Oh, and Mac's used to be expensive because they used the best parts. Now they use the same parts as anyone else but are still expensive, so the only reason they are more expensive is to make Apple more money... which is kind of sad. They really could sell a lot more if they revised their pricing model to be along the lines of their expenses. They make huge volumes off iTunes, etc. so it is not like hardware sales is a real drive for money.
Oh okay I am looking this Chromebook; http://www.amazon.com/Acer-Chromebook-11-6-Inch-Touchscreen-Moonstone/dp/B00H7WF22K/ref=sr_1_23?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1425412347&sr=1-23&keywords=chromebook This is the one I would buy, I am a geek when it comes to hardware :) I tried the Chromium OS from Hexxeh and it was awesome! I just want a laptop that is a good price range small like the Chromebook, lightweight OS, really really fast, easily portable but not a phone, I don't really want Windows cause it just sucks :) I like Mac which I have tried but is really expensive. Would the Chromebook be more portable than any other laptop? I like Android by the way so the Chromebook is cool. I am Android all the way but I like macs laptops Just need this laptop to be able to edit Google Drive Docs, surf the web, listen to music, and basic things. I think the Chromebook will suffice for that.
