The town of Pleasantville experienced a very hot, dry summer with very little wind. How can these conditions affect the reproduction of seed plants Seed plants need water for sperm to swim, so the dry conditions could make it harder for the sperm of seed plants to fertilize eggs. Pollen requires hot temperatures and dry conditions so the conditions could help many plants thrive. The conditions are external stimuli that could trigger a change in behavior in plants; they might wilt or die. Pollen travels on wind and water so the conditions could affect the ability of pollen to travel.
What do you think and why?
CoC does not allow us to give direct answers. I need you to give your opinion and then we can discuss, if you have the time.
is it d.
@mathmate
Please explain why you think it is d, or explain why the other three do not qualify.
i think its d because of if it is not that windy out than some pollen could fall off of what ever it is falling off @mathmate
Yes,that is correct. Also, some plants need water to carry the seeds/fruits (e.g. coconut). So lack of rain and wind makes seed/plant reproduction more difficult. Note: I think there should be a section for biology. Next time, you could post over there, and if there is nobody or no answer, you can post here with reference to your original post.
