What is a nucleotide made of?

pooja195 (pooja195):

Nucleotides are organic molecules that serve as the monomers, or subunits, of nucleic acids like DNA and RNA. The building blocks of nucleic acids, nucleotides are composed of a nitrogenous base, a five-carbon sugar (ribose or deoxyribose), and at least one phosphate group. -google

Take a look at the picture I've posted. Nucleotides have three main parts. 1. Nitrogenous base (Cytosine, in the picture, is an example of a nitrogenous base. There's more than one kind.) 2. Five-carbon sugar 3. Phosphate group

OpenStudy (bookworm14):

It depends on what type of Nucleotide it is: RNA- Nitrogenouse base, (Uracil, Cytosine, Guanine, and Adenine) five carbon sugar (ribose in RNA), and phosphate group DNA- Nitrogenous base (thymine, cytosine, guanine, and Adenine), five carbon sugar (deoxyribose in DNA) and phosphate group
