Chase has been playing a game where he can create towns and help his empire expand. Each town he has allows him to create 1.13 times as many villagers. The game gave Chase 4 villagers to start with. Help Chase expand his empire by solving for how many villagers he can create with 17 towns. Then explain to Chase how to create an equation to predict the number of villagers for any number of towns. Show your work and use complete sentences.

@Ilovecake please help

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

ah, FLVS I see.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol yeah the struggle

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

my question is for that. lemme guess, part 2 of the second segment?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah algebra 2 h

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

same. can you tell me what module so I can help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

module 8

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

ok. so what do you think you have to do?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

arithmetic series equation

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

not exactly. do you know the difference between arithmetic and geometric?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes arithmetic is the same number each time

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

and geometric?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geometric is multiples

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

now what about series and sequence?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

series is all the stuff added sequence is just the numbers

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

now, which one do you think we need? a list of numbers, or the stuff added/multiplied?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

series

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

now what about arthemic or geometric?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

geometricc

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

do you remember the equation for it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no i do not

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

an= a1*r^(n-1)

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

do you think you can do it from here? you just need to enter in the numbers from here.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay yes i can can u make sure i got it right real quick

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

ok. remember, were talking about people, there cant be .something of a person. round it up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

an=4*1.13^(17-1)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this right?

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

yup. what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

29

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

that's right. I gtg. don't forget to show your work, they might take of points. =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):
