In 1928 there was an agreement that was signed that countries agreed to not use war to resolve there disputes/conflicts. The name of this agreement was officially "General Treaty for Renuciation of War as an Instrument of National Policy." But for short it called the Kellogg-Briand Pact or the Pact of Paris.
