Disadvantages to cloning

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The process of cloning involves scientists using certain cells from an organism and trying to grow a copy of the organism. Since meiosis and sexual reproduction are not involved in this process, this new organism will definitely have the exact same genes as the original organism. I think this is a bad idea because

@Sheraz12345 u there???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Sheraz12345 what about genetic engineering and artificial selection??

OpenStudy (sheraz12345):

iTS Disadvantages?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whichever lol but yeah

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

A Degree of Uncertainty Dolly, the cloned sheep, proved to be a successful cloning. However, it should be noted that two-hundred fifty eggs were used and Dolly was the only outcome. Just imagine, infertile couples will have to face that same heartbreak through in vitro fertilization. Inheritance of Genetic Diseases Somatic cells are extracted and randomized; scientists cannot exactly tell the cells that contain the traits of illnesses or diseases. Thus, it is more likely that the cells used may have the same genetic disorder or disease. The cloned person may likely have it. Organ Rejection Because of Cell Mutation Although the technique utilizes the cells of the organ of the recipient, there is still a chance that the cells will mutate. This results to a significant difference on the cell makeup between the replicated and original organ. I got these from http://occupytheory.org/advantages-and-disadvantages-of-cloning/

Ok is that for cloning @MikeyMaximum ??

OpenStudy (mikeymaximum):

YES!!! :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

haha thx and what about genetic engineering and artificial selection??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@MikeyMaximum

@j57

OpenStudy (anonymous):

idk that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok lol
