If x = –3 is the only x-intercept of the graph of a quadratic equation, which statement best describes the discriminant of the equation? A. The discriminant is negative. B. The discriminant is –3. C. The discriminant is 0. D. The discriminant is positive. I think C, but that's just a hunch. I'm not sure. =/

see a quadratic equation has a single x intercept when both its roots coincide, i.e same roots, here x = -3 are the roots of the equation. the condition exists when dicriminant = 0 i.e C for this question
