(Medal given to best answer) 2. A triangular pyramid begins with these coordinates: P: (0, 5, 4) Y: (–2, 7, 4) R: (0, 7, 4) A: (0, 7, 6) The pyramid is then reflected over the xz-plane. The reflected image is then translated 3 units back, 2 units left, and 4 units up. Determine the coordinates of that final image, following these steps: • Write the general rule you use for the reflection. • Show the results of your calculations for the reflection. • Write the general rule you use for the translation. •Show the result of your calculations for the translation.

can you please help me out @ganeshie8

OpenStudy (zolock):

and @sleepyjess

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know how to do this but are you asking for help or for me to do it for you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correction: I know how to draw it.. not how to answer those questions.

OpenStudy (zolock):

help and show so I know how to do it next time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok. One sec.

Do you know how to graph the original pyramid using this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Zolock

OpenStudy (zolock):

yeah im pretty sure i can but its still hard for me to draw on the 3 coordinate graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Here is a really good explanation. http://www.wikihow.com/Plot-Points-in-Three-Dimensions Brush up on it and then try to plot it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then once you are done with the original graph, you take every x variable and subtract three from it. Add two to every y, and 4 to every z variable. Regraph and you have your transformation.
