What is the exact volume of a sphere with a diameter of 36 in.? ______3.14in^3

Nnesha (nnesha):

\[\huge\rm v = \frac{ 4 }{ 3 } \pi r^3\] formula to find volume of sphere remember radius is half of diameter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know the formula, but the practice course puts a ^3 on the in and it messes it up and i dont understand

Nnesha (nnesha):

in^3 ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah. i dont know how to solve for that. every time i do the formula i get a inches not inches^3

Nnesha (nnesha):

you don't have to solve that that's just a unit

Nnesha (nnesha):

just replace r by its value and then multiply by 4/3 you don't even need to use pi in this case

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh. i mean it always tells me it is wrong because of the ^3. i do the formula and then check it on math calculators and get the same thing from others. it just constantly says it is wrong.

Nnesha (nnesha):

show your work plz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

Nnesha (nnesha):

:-)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

gimme a sec to draw it

Nnesha (nnesha):

sure
