WILL Medal! from Antigone What belief causes Creon to decide at last that his decree about Polyneices's burial is against the gods' will? A. Teiresias's prophecies have proved true in the past. B. Teiresias has been bribed to deliver a tragic prophecy. C. Teiresias only reports what the boy claims to have seen. D. Teiresias's anger is a sign that he speaks out of jealousy.

I think it's D but I'm not sure.

OpenStudy (jojokiw3):

I think it's A. Especially since Creon has always been more or less a selfish person and he was afraid of Teiresias' prophecy, thus leading him to try and protect his own son by listening and burying Polyneices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm. so which one?

OpenStudy (jojokiw3):

Pretty sure it's A. :|

OpenStudy (jojokiw3):

Yeah, think about it. Prophet T has always been right, then he prophecies that Creon is in a load of deep deep trouble if he doesn't bury Polyneices. From what we know from Creon, he is more or less a selfish person.
