What are the pros and cons of radians and degrees?

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

anyone?

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

@Hoslos ?

I seriously don't know if there are pros and cones of radians or degrees, they both look good to me..

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

i put this: degrees are simple and when first seen, it can be understood quickly. but, it cant be used in complex math like calculus. that’s where radians come in. it can be use in a lot more equations, but most people wont understand you when you saying "oh, its 2p/3 radians from that(your example.)"

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

but i got marked wrong

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

anyone?

I got some link, if you can read it then may be you will get it: https://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20140211191308AAYkBWG

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

its good, but it only gives radians...

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

you still get a medal for helping though =)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No need to give medals to me who has enough already. :P

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

Degrees are more practical for everyday use and useful for application. Easier to imagine the size of an angle when described in degrees. degrees allow for easier division since its based on 360. Radians are more mathematical and practical for graphing and using for arc length and circle problems.

OpenStudy (rocklionmba):

my teacher says that wrong , i wrote almost the same as you said...

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

its not wrong but i guess its not what your teacher was looking for :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the advantage is that when it comes to architecture, to draw arcs andother shapes, it is very useful angles greater than 360 degrees, hence using multiles of Pi. As disadvantage: when it comes to scientific explanation of slopes, very small angles are used, hence radians do not work here, they would need to be in decimals.

What about my explanation @rocklionmba?
