OpenStudy (rayman5766):

Which circles have a circumference of 18 units? Choose all answers that are correct. A. a circle with a radius of 9 units B. a circle with a radius of 18 units C. a circle with a diameter of 18 units D. a circle with a diameter of 36 units

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

@iGreen help

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

@sleepyhead314 pls help me i am so sad

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

Circumference = pi * diameter diameter = 2* radius

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

b/c people are busy and have their own lives ;) anyways... diameter = circumference divided by pi find the diameter (that will give you an answer) then radius = diameter / 2 find the radius (will give you the other answer)

OpenStudy (igreen):

???

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

18.26

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

18 divided by pi

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

18/2 =9

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

I said pi

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

and whats that

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

3.1415926535897932384626433832795028841971693993...

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

most people just use 3.14

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

ok so 3.14

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

18 divided by 3.14

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

5.7

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

wait... are you sure your question is right? is there a weird squiggle next to the 18 in the original question?

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

yea

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

ohhhh that squiggle is "pi" 18pi divided by pi = 18 = diameter

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

then radius = 18 divided by 2 =

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

like its on line with 2 things sticking out like the leeter TT like that

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

yup that's "pi"

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

18pi divided by pi = 18 = diameter *cough*

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

then radius = 18 divided by 2 =

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

and that gives me 9

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

yes so now you have your two answers

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

9 9

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

18pi divided by pi = 18 = diameter *cough*

OpenStudy (rayman5766):

i know that silly

OpenStudy (sleepyhead314):

so that's one of your answers too
