A manufacturer uses a mold to make a part in the shape of a triangular prism. the demensions of this part are shown below. wich estimate is closest to the volume in cubic millimeters of the part A. 306 B. 768 C. 1,008 D. 2,016
@Data_LG2 @sleepyjess
do you know the formula for the volume of triangular prism?
\[\sqrt{ 4h﹣a4+2(ab)2+2(ac)2﹣b4+2(bc)2﹣c4}\]
it has a 1/4 h before all that
@Data_LG2
\(\sf \Large \frac{1}{4}h \sqrt{ -a^4+2(ab)^2+2(ac)^2-b^4+2(bc)^2-c^4}\)
how do you figure that out? @Data_LG2
First calculate the area of the triangle. Use the A= (1/2)bh formula The base is 12.3 mm and the height is 8.2 mm, since this is an estimation estimate 1/2 of 8.2 or 4.1 and then estimate the 4.1 times 12.3 Now to get volume take your estimated area and multiply (estimating) that times the length of 20.5. I estimate approx 1000 cubic mm.
thanks
