Why was America’s victory at Yorktown among the most significant battles of the American Revolution? (a)It made the British realize they were fighting a lost cause and soon after, they conceded the war. (b)It forced colonists who had so far remained neutral to pick a side and enlist in the war. (c)It helped the Continental Army remove all British barracks from New Jersey. (d)It helped secure France’s military and financial aid for the American cause. (e)It was the colonists’ first victory against the British during the Revolution.

a
Why A?
see i never reakky had any body ask me tht
I would go with C because yorktown pushed the british back to the peninsula. The british thought they would be resupplied by british ships there, but they were instead met by the colonists and the french. This stopped supplies from reaching the british.
The American Revolution (1775-1783) was the process by which the thirteen American colonies became an independent nation, the United States of America. It involved new ideas, based on republicanism, and required victory in a long war with Britain. After the fighting raged for a year the Americans declared independence on July 4, 1776, as a separate nation, and formed an alliance with France that equalized the military and naval strengths of the two sides. i believe this is why
if you need some more back up Most "revolutions" in history, like the later French Revolution of the 1790s, involve the overthrow of an old social structure in the search for freedom. Not this one. This one was designed to protect freedoms colonists already had created for themselves in their largely self-governing colonies. As Gordon Wood (1966) explains, "The Revolution had taken place not in a succession of eruptions that had crumbled the existing social structure, but in a succession of new thoughts and new ideas that had vindicated the social structure."[2] Those "new thoughts and new ideas" comprised "republicanism." idk if this part will help but here
I'm not so sure about A just because it says that the british conceded soon after the battle of yorktown. The battle of yorktown occurred in 1781 and the british didn't concede until 1783.
@Coolguy25 What do you think?
The tactical advantage of the situation was great, by taking Yorktown it pushed the British army back to a peninsula where they believed they would be resupplied by the British navy, instead they were met by both the French and the Colonists Navy. Preventing any supplies from reaching the British. I would think it is C, because it cannot be D, as the first win for the Colonists was at Concord. @solidrebirth your right
It helped the Continental Army remove all British barracks from New Jersey
Thank you guys I am going with C
