CHARACTERS: JOSHUA DEACON Stage Set: Deacon's living room. He forgets that he had called Kelly earlier, and he is on the speaker phone. He has not hung up the phone by accident. DEACON: Do you think she'll say yes? JOSHUA: Why not? You've only been going out for centuries. DEACON: Ha! Funny. I don't know if she'll even like the ring. JOSHUA: Dude, who cares about the rock? I mean—isn't it all about the love? DEACON: Yeah. Yeah. JOSHUA: No need to be that nervous. You are only saying a prepared speech. DEACON: Hey, do I look sharp enough? JOSHUA: Oh lord! You are asking the wrong person. I can never admit you are better-looking than anyone I know. You know you look good in even gym shorts. Now, don't ask me about your cotton pants! DEACON: So, tonight. JOSHUA: Yes. Yes. Call me after she says "yes."

RAFAEL: Even if he won't make it, I have graduated. MONA: Now, get in the line. RAFAEL: Mama! Even if all of my friends' fathers come, I know he is thinking of coming. MONA: Yes, he is. You know he wants to come
