Is the group of words a simple sentence, a compound sentence, or a run-on sentence? The ledge was narrow, but one person could stand on it. A. run-on sentence B. simple sentence C. compound sentence i have no idea what this one is
Okay.
As I said before: run-on sentences are sentences that keep going when they should have periods within them. simple sentences are sentences such as, I like dogs. You're not describing the dog or anything. compound sentences are sentences that contain at least two independent clauses.
A
It's not a run-on. It says "but" which doesn't make it run-on.
I meant B
If it didn't have that conjunction, it would be a run-on.
B is wrong, too.
so what would it be umm i think it would be simple sentences
It describes the ledge, saying it was narrow. If it said "There is a ledge" then it would be, B.
what would it be if it was to discribe
Since we eliminated A and B the answer is C. It describe the ledge as narrow.
i know but on a different sentence if it was to desribe something what would that make it a compound
Yes.
Depending on your choices because sometimes a choice is "complete sentence"
thanks
