Which process in the water cycle do plants perform?
USGS version of the topic: https://water.usgs.gov/edu/watercycle.html And one that has been broken down some more: http://www.kidzone.ws/water/
Infiltration and subsequent absorption of water for manufacture of food and to photosynthesise.
Hoslos, that is not part of the water cycle.
Remember when there is waterfall and its infiltration in the soil, some of it is due to plants absorbing it.
No, that is not the part they play. Look into what transpiration is.
Oh, and transpiration is one of the two reasons why plans fight mud slides. The other is the physical effects of their roots. It is also why they use plants atop the dirt caps that cover land fills.
You got that right. As you said, they use it atop the dirty caps. That promotes the soil resistance because the roots grow stronger, longer and wider. Apart from this, they also absorb water. It is was not for some of the absorption, the soil would be very muddy so soon, that could flow in the form of mudflow. The reason why plants absorb it to reduce this effect. Unless though this being true, it is not part of water cycle...
Actually, it is. Like I said, read up on transpiration. It is part of the water cycle. Here is what the U.S. Geological Survey has to say on it: https://water.usgs.gov/edu/watercycleevapotranspiration.html
Thank you ;) @e.mccormick @Hoslos
No problem.
=) I hope you know this topic now.
